Who was Miss B?

‘This park got its name from the original owners of Miss B's Tearooms who operated a tearoom on this site in the 1920's. Originally a timber framed, a weather board house was constructed on the site in 1920 for a residence for the then secretary of the Corrigin Roads Board, F Rodda, but it was never used by him. Two young ladies named Miss Edith Broadhurst and Miss Isobel Braidwood purchased the place and opened tearooms. They ran a very popular tearoom, which was open 7 days a week, catering to the men workers of the district. It was later known as the BonTon Tearooms In the 1980's it was used as the Red Cross Shop. The building which had stood vacant for a number of years was demolished in the late 1990's as it had fallen into disrepair. Council purchased the property with the intention of relocating the Telecentre. This plan did not eventuate, and it was decided that a park in the main street would be an asset to the town.’
