ELEPHANT IN THE WHEATBELT

Angie Roe Photography

A road safety campaign.

This colourful mural certainly brightens up the main shopping streem however it portrays a very important message. Aiming to highlight the consistently high road fatalities and serious injury rate in the WA Wheatbelt, the RAC chose Corrigin to be one of six communities to receive a mural, depicting an important road safety message.  It acts as a reminder to keep road safety at the forefront of everyone's mind.

Corrigin community members were invited to help the artist, Samantha Hughes with painting the mural, achieved by the concept of painting with numbers.

Completed in June 2018, this mural remains to hold an important message for all road users.
